Today I learned...

about the Mandala. It is an artform of self-expression in Buddhism.

Really, that's all I learned about it. Someone mentioned it in their poem today, actually, it was Mary who mentioned it in a poem. If anyone else knows anything about it, speak up, and we will learn together. Learning is fun!

Dear dear sweet Angela,
The mandala was used by Jung. It was representative of the self and personal Archetypes. Quite fun, it is.

Today, I learned of the awesomeness of the people in my sociology class. Really, I had no idea that so many people in that class would have a genuine interest in serial killers. Kudos to you, class... kudos to you.

Angela,
Mandala is a palace in the mind that one is supposed to contemplate during meditation in Tibetan Buddhism. I'd imagine that it's come to have many meanings in different cultures but that, so far as I know, is the origin of the word.
